The NMHH amended the rules on safe internet services for children: from now on fixed-line internet providers must also offer them. Subscribers can request or cancel the service free of charge at any time, at least through the telephone customer service. It must be provided within at most 48 hours for mobile internet and within at most 60 days for fixed-line internet. Providers may not require regular identification or individual device settings, for example DNS settings. Fixed-line providers with fewer than 10,000 subscribers only have to apply the rules from 1 January 2027.

The Magyar Nemzeti Bank issues a HUF 5,000 copper alloy commemorative coin for the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The coin appears on 27 May 2026, and 6,000 pieces may be made. The reverse shows a map of the Carpathian Basin with 11 founding chamber cities, including Sopron, Pest-Buda and Debrecen.

The NMHH amended the fees for using radio frequencies and set fees for new radio applications. A new rule concerns wireless broadband (WBB) local networks: in the 4100–4200 MHz band, the monthly fee is HUF 0.25 per 1 kHz and 1 square kilometre, calculated for at least 5 square kilometres. Around Budapest, in county seats and in cities with county rights the fee is double. The decree does not apply to NATO military frequency use.

The NMHH amended the rules on registering communications networks and simplified providers' reporting. Providers must submit data on their existing networks on a four-year schedule: first infrastructure and routes, then optical cable, coaxial cable and finally copper cable data. The authority publishes the start of the reporting period 120 days in advance. The decree enters into force on the 31st day after publication.

The NMHH regulated what communications providers must do if they offer deferred payment for a phone or other product. In such cases they must also apply the rules of the consumer credit act, with several consumer protection requirements even for interest-free deferred payment. When the contract is terminated, the full amount of the deferred payment also counts among the costs payable. The decree transposes an EU consumer credit directive and enters into force on 20 November 2026.

Ukraine notified Hungary that environmental licensing is under way for building units 5 and 6 of the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant. Under the Espoo Convention, the Hungarian public can send comments on the environmental impact assessment documentation to [email protected] until 22 June 2026.
