Draft laws (public consultation)

Draft partialPublic consultation on the draft BM decree on testing firearmsTársadalmi egyeztetés a fegyverek vizsgálatáról szóló BM rendelet tervezetéhezMinistry of Interior

Draft: an interior minister's decree would end compulsory technical testing of firearms kept in museums as cultural goods. According to the justification, testing and applying proof marks damages the original condition and cultural-historical value of antique weapons. Because of their age, these items cannot meet today's technical requirements anyway. The decree would enter into force on the 15th day after publication; comments could be sent until 7 July 2026.

Draft: because of EU rules, an agriculture minister's decree would also make records of pesticide use, that is a spraying log, compulsory for professional users not engaged in commercial production. The EU rule requires electronic records, but Hungary would allow paper records for as long as possible, until 31 December 2029. In home gardens, simpler records remain sufficient; comments could be sent until 7 July 2026.
