The government decree transposes EU directives on restricting hazardous substances, mainly lead, in electrical and electronic equipment. It extends the validity of certain exemptions, for example the use of lead in solders, ceramics, glass and alloys where there is no substitute yet. For consumer items smaller than 5 cm that children can put in their mouths, these exemptions only apply if a strict lead migration limit is met. From 13 August 2027 exemption applications must be submitted to the European Chemicals Agency.

The government decree adjusts the rules on installing construction products to the new EU Construction Products Regulation (2024 CPR). It introduces new concepts, for example for used and salvaged construction products, and updates the rules on proving performance. It makes clear that it is prohibited to install unprocessed, naturally asbestos-containing material and mining products. It also updates the names of fire protection authorities. Most provisions enter into force on 1 January 2027.

The government decree allows soldiers removed from the armed forces in 2023 under an emergency decree to return. According to the decree's justification, this was done unjustly. On request, professional or contract service can be established with them without a probationary period, at their previous rank and with pay at least equal to their previous salary. Their service time must be calculated as if their service had not ended, but the lost period does not count. On reinstatement, the defence service benefit paid to them ends.

Based on an EU directive, the government decree sets energy efficiency requirements in public procurement. In procedures reaching the EU threshold, the contracting authority must apply the "energy efficiency first" principle and document its examination of energy-saving solutions. Exceptions are possible if this is technically not feasible or is necessary because of a health crisis or national security, and it does not apply to defence procurement. The decree enters into force on the 8th day after publication.

The government decided to close the "Every business should have its own website" programme. No new applications are accepted and no commitments are made for the programme's second phase, while claims submitted in the first phase by 30 September 2026 will still be paid. About HUF 7.3 billion is provided for this. By 30 November 2026 the ministries concerned must prepare a more suitable and cost-effective new support programme for 2027–2029.

The government decided on several reallocations in the 2026 budget, including about HUF 2.7 billion from the Central Residual Settlement Fund to several ministries. It allowed the use of commitments from 2024 not yet paid, but withdrew HUF 2.5 billion from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In addition it ordered about HUF 1.1 billion in one-off and HUF 9.3 billion in permanent reallocations. It set an annual commitment ceiling of HUF 500 million for 2027–2030 for the administration of five ministries, and HUF 5.3 billion for court investments in 2027.

The agriculture minister's decree provides support from the EU crisis reserve to maize growers damaged by the 2025 drought. Farmers are eligible if the authority certified a yield loss of more than 30% on their maize field and they applied for basic income support in 2026. The total budget is the forint equivalent of EUR 10.8 million, and the amount per hectare depends on the size of eligible areas. The Curia's uniformity decision concerns the founding charter and organisational and operational rules of condominiums. The founding charter of condominiums founded after 2004 may not contain a rule that belongs only in the organisational and operational rules adopted by the general meeting, for example how common costs are borne. For older condominiums, such a provision of the founding charter ceases to apply when the general meeting adopts a resolution on it or adopts rules. The Curia thereby departed from its earlier decision under which the founding charter prevails in case of conflict.

The Ministry for the Living Environment published a report on wastewater collection and treatment in Hungarian settlements for 2023–2024. According to the document, Hungary achieved at national level the at least 75% nitrogen and phosphorus removal required by the EU directive. Treated wastewater, however, still puts significant pressure on surface waters. The new EU wastewater directive must be transposed by 31 July 2027 and already covers settlements above 1,000 population equivalent, which will require significant further investment over the next two decades.
