Parliament cut VAT on firewood and other wood-based fuels to 5%, because many poorer households can only heat with wood. The reduced rate applies to split firewood, stumps and brushwood, and to sawdust, wood chips, pellets and briquettes for heating. The act was adopted on 28 August and enters into force on 15 September 2026.

The government ended priority investment status, which gave faster and simpler permitting, for several investments. This is the result of the review ordered on 14 May. The decrees on the Margaret Island National Tennis Competition Centre, the facilities of the National Circus Arts Centre and the property development of Pázmány Péter Catholic University were fully repealed. Several other projects were also removed from the priority economic development and brownfield lists, and the classification of a brownfield action area in District XIII of Budapest and one in Törökbálint changed. The benefits removed cannot be applied in pending cases either. The decree entered into force on the day after publication.
