From 1 November 2026 the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) would professionally direct the food chain safety, animal welfare, wine, crop production, land and other agricultural authority tasks of county government offices. The food chain supervision units of district offices would merge into the county government offices. According to the government, decisions would thus be made in one place, epidemics and crises would be handled faster, and the export competitiveness of Hungarian food would improve. In some cases the eligible person gets half, HUF 25,000 in vouchers. On redemption, the payment service provider could charge the retailer a fee of at most 1 percent of face value.
