The interior minister's decree adjusts several firearms decrees to the new statutory rules on "modular firearms". A modular firearm is one that can be assembled at home by hand from prefabricated replacement parts. The decree extends the rules on official storage, surrender and sale to certain main parts of weapons (for example the bolt or the slide) if the firearms licence is revoked. After the licence is revoked, the weapon and main parts must be handed in within 5 days, and the owner can request their sale within 180 days. It also sets the conditions under which a weapon assembled from different main parts counts as proof-tested.
